Iconic Rock Star, David Bowie, Dies at 69
The 69-year-old died after battling cancer for 18 months. A statement was released on the social media site Facebook, confirming his death. "David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer."
Support from fans and family poured out on Twitter and the iconic rocker is still trending. Duncan Jones, David's director son also shared some love for his late father by tweeting a picture of his father and him at a younger age. He wrote: "Very sorry and sad to say it's true. I'll be offline for a while. Love to all."
His death comes on the heels of the release of his latest album, Blackstar. The singer had wanted to release his 29th album to celebrate his 69th birthday. Support has come from all over the world, including some celebrities. David also had a wife Iman and another child, daughter Alexandria.
